Summary
The concrete foreman effectively manages the daily onsite activities of the concrete pour placement and finishing processes.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Ensures field personnel follow daily pour activities as outlined by Amcrete management
- Works to ensure that obstacles are overcome to enable the field personnel to effectively and efficiently place and finish the slab
- Completes daily reports, extra work tickets, safety forms and other documents as required.
- Works with the management team to create pour plans for each job including the required manpower, equipment, supplies etc.
- Will work with other foremen to share manpower resources when needed between projects
- Ensures that employees follow established policies and procedures
- Participates in the proper training of field employees
- Works to ensure the enculturation of safety policies and procedures on the jobsite
- Represents the company in a positive and professional manner including in the community
- Adheres to the company’s safety policies to create a safe work environment
- Other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications/Skills
- High School Diploma/GED
- 30 Hour OSHA Certification
- Good communication skills
- Leadership seminars/training preferred
- Thorough knowledge of construction procedures and Amcrete safety plan and OSHA regulations.
- Two (2) years’ prior leadership experience preferred
- Personal initiative and ability to prioritize work independently
- This position will require daily travel to jobsites with no need for permanent office
- Successful candidate must be high energy and have the ability to develop strong relationships with project managers, other foreman, field personnel, and temporary agencies
- Must be capable of multi-tasking, problem solving and working in a fast-paced environment
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to work in a team environment while portraying a positive attitude and maintaining confidentiality

Cement Mason/Laborer
Job Title
Cement Mason/Laborer

Summary
As a Cement Mason/Laborer you would prepare, form, pour, finish, saw-cut and spray-cure concrete foundations, walls, slabs on grade, slabs on deck, structural slabs, exterior concrete paving, sidewalks, steps and curbs. Cement Mason/Laborer responsibilities to include demolition, excavation and hauling of concrete, granular and dirt materials using hand and power tools, as well as wheel barrows.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Rake, straightedge, float and trowel concrete within pour limits, using hand tools and power equipment.
- Vibrate concrete to consolidate material as required using electric and gas-powered backpack vibrators.
- Achieve concrete slab finish tolerances for floor flatness and levelness as well as required surface finishes per specification.
- Cement Masons will be required to have the ability to hand float, edge and trowel concrete surfaces working on knee boards.
- Saw cut concrete using handheld and/or walk behind power saws.
- Spray and/or roll curing and sealing compounds onto concrete surfaces.
- Calculate forming dimensions and quantities, stone and concrete material quantities for pours.
- Measure distance from reference points and mark guidelines to lay out work, using plumb bobs and levels, optical instruments and blueprints.
- Mix specified amounts of water, sand and Portland cement to patch and rub deviations on concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.
- Examine existing concrete work to determine need for repair.
- Remove existing concrete using sledgehammer, spudbar, power chipping hammer or jackhammer.
Desired Qualifications/Skills

- 10 Hour OSHA Certification
- Sufficient education or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the desired knowledge, skills and characteristics to perform concrete duties.
- Static Strength – The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objects.
- Dynamic Strength – The ability to exert muscle force repeatedly or continuously over time. This involves muscular endurance and resistance to muscle fatigue.
- Extent Flexibility – The ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach with your body, arms and/or legs.
- Visualization – The ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged.
- Peripheral Vision – The ability to see objects or movement of objects to one’s side when the eyes are looking ahead.
- Gross Body Equilibrium – The ability to keep or regain your body balance or stay upright when in an unstable position.
- Stamina – The ability to exert yourself physically over long periods of time without getting winded or out of breath.
- Trunk Strength – The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without giving out to fatigue.
- Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction).
- Acceptable hearing (with or without hearing aid).
- Ability to pull ready-mix concrete (50 pounds and over).
- Ability to work at heights without fear including work on scaffolding and ladders.
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
- Ability to use equipment and tools safely.
- Must have a good work ethic and the ability to understand and carry out written or oral instructions.
- Ability to perform on a regular basis in outside weather conditions consisting of wet, hot, humid and/or freezing temperatures, also contending with dirt and dust.
